The Fasting Plan

This is my first post of the year, so Happy New Year again.

I’m actually pretty energized for this new decade, with a couple of plans afoot.  Here’s one of them:

Just prior to Christmas – in the midst of the holiday feasting – my good friend N and I discussed a plan for fasting one day a month.  Of course, at the time we were eating (actually over-eating) delish Mexican food at our usual hang out – El Burrito, Jr (LBJ) in Torrance – trying to remember to use my West High Football discount card.

Needless to say the whole concept of fasting got pushed waaaay back in my mind… until today that is.  Today as I’m walking my dogs, which takes me past N’s house, it popped right back.

I’m up for it, definitely, I’m sure she is too.  And I’m putting it out here for you to see, because this public airing is my accountability check. We’ll probably set up another lunch at LBJ to finalize our plan.  Doesn’t that sound good?!

I’ll be setting a lunch date momentarily and doing some research in the meantime, so I can go armed with encouraging information as to why?  Here’s a snippet I found so far that works for me: “Supervised fasting for a stipulated period helps patients make those required changes in their life that will positively influence their health.”  Read more: Benefits of Fasting

I’ll be keeping you posted of course.
